HOT HOT SUMMER!

Well i am pretty mad at myself. we went on a big family outting to Harrison and i had forgotten to take the memory card out of the computer and put it bakc into my camera. so here i am at the beach ready to take a pic of janae having a blast and on my screen appears "no memory card" AHHHH! We had a terrific day. i only burned a little the spots i forgot my bathing suit didn't cover and i forgot to lotion thoes areas! And now i am dealing with heat rash all over! Anyone else get small red bumps everywhere that itch and hurt all at the same tiem? I never used to get them. The first time i got them was when we went to Cancun. I thought at the time it was because it was winter here when we wen tand my skin was in shock with the temperature change. i remember the last two days in Cancun i couldn't even sit in the sun i was in so much pain. and ever since i get it every time i am in the sun. i heard benydryl helps, maybe i will have to try that. my doctor told me it was cuase from all of a sudden being in the sun for a long period of time. oh well won't stop me from enjoying this gorgeous weather! So incase some of you arn't diligent readers fo the abbotsford papaer i encourage you to read it today and look for a picture of my daughter janae with a clown! i posted a link to it on my facebook for thoes of you who have access to my profile! It is so neat to see your child in the paper. Kind of gives you the feeling that she is famous! I am sure most peopel don't even think twice when they see the picture but who cares. I just see Janae's face all lit up when i show her the picture in the paper. she must feel like a princess! Anywho, i just wanted to share my day a bit with all you readers and unfortunately i don't have pics from today. but i did capture some cute photos of janae at mill lake. until the next post, enjoy the sun!

Janae at Devon Nurseries, falling while chasing chickens at the petting zoo!
this is the front yard, i need to take a current one with the fence totally done and the flowers in.

took this two nights ago, they both love bath time.

Janae playing at the zoo on the playground

camryn enjoying the sun we had that ONE day!

I have been finding it really hard to blog lately. Just never have time to sit and write and then i wonder, who cares what i have to say and decide i would rather do something else. but it's 9:30 and like every night i lay janae down in her bed and then sit outside her door til she is asleep. for some reason i only have to do this at night time and not during the day which is nice. but hey it beats laying in her bed and trying to sneak out or tyring to stay awake.. since she has been able to fall asleep without me in her bed she has been sleepng through the night...well until this weekend that is. John went away on a church mens fishing derby fort he weekend and the two night he was gone both girls were up for most of the night on and off, it was horrible! And then last night camryn woke up at 3 and dint go back down til 6 and then janae was up at 7. it was rediculous, so it has been a really crappy day and the rain sure didn't help the mood around here.

Onto updates about the girls. Janae has learned her abc's. and no i did not teach her, she learned it from listenign to camryns' exersaucer sing it! I wish i could take the credit but i can't! Oh well it doesnt' really matter who teaches it to them right? Janae loves books and recently we got a book from the library and we read it twice to her and now she reads it back to us, its simple but she does it, and it is so fun to watch her. Janae has also been speaking so much more. i mean she has always been talking way above her age level but recently she has been sayign things we say.. which isn't always good. Like her new words that she heres us say i guess are <"what the heck!' and "that sucks!' it is hard not to smile or chuckle when she says thes e things because of how she says them but you know int he end its not something we want to encourage!. Janae is a determined little child and needs her space. We have been workign on her outburst of attacks. Whne i say that i mean she will do the typical push or hit when a child takes a toy from her or if she wants a turn with the toy someone has but she is aggressive soemtimes jsut because and what erks me even more is the smile she has on her face when she hits another child and when she is being disciplined. I am nto sure how to correct thsi behavior, it is just so mean. Anyways i do have support from supported child care so maybe i can find a technique that will work. It just makes it hard to go out with other kids janae's age becasue she just walks up to a child and hits or pushed them for no reason sometimes and so parks scare me when she is up on the play structure and i cna't reach her. It also is hard when i have carmyn with me cause i dont' always have a free hand. So every tuesday we have been able to go to a playgroup and leave camryn with my mom so that has been awesome. i hope that she will grow otu of this stage of "bullying".

Camryn is growin g so fast, she is almost 5..5 months now. She is 19pounds 7 oz! she likes to eat just like her mommy, all day and all night. well only one bottle at night some nights! She is able to roll over from her stomach to back but hasn't even tried from back to stomach and right now she is able to sit all by herself. She started doing it about two weeks ago and she learned it really quickly, Janae only sat alone after 6 months. Camryn has discovered her voice and loves to hear it. It can get really loud and be more like yelling but these past two days it has turend to babbling. She says," giggle giggle giggle" it is so cute. I am thinking her bottom teeth are trying to cut through as she has been extremly miserable! and camryn si a pretty content child who smiles seriously ALL the time. I cuoldnt have asked for a more content child. she is the comoplet opposite of Janae.
Janae loves camryn and playing wth camryn she is such a great big sister adn is soooo gentle with camryn, it is amazign how janae takes on teh mommy roll when i am busy doing something, i often am busy doing something and when camryn starts whinnign or crying janae says," just a minute camryn I am coming" and goes and grabs her soother to put it in her mouth. Janae often is able to tell us what camryn wants which si helpful! Janae holds camryn often and hugs and kisses her saying ,"mommy look at her, she's cute!"
A couple of months ago it was snowing out and janae went to the window and said, "mommy look its' snowing, AMAZING!" what random word and who knew that she knew that word! So here and there that word comes out and makes us laugh.

Today jsut before bed janae called john and i to the floor for circle time. she mimicks her teacher at playgroup and does all the songs and says all the things that her teacher does, it was so neat.

Anyways it has been busy around here, my mom came may long weekend to help me plant flowers and becasu eof the lack fo sun we have they arn't looking so great! Time for some sun already.

We bought a year pass to the zoo which si such a great deal, i recommned everyoen with children to do the pass. It is 60bucks a person and includes parkign and a train ride each visist, admission to the seattle zoo and the one in kelowna, 20%off at the aquarium and science world. They have a brand new playground that is great for 2 years and older. so even just going there for a walk and park time is worth it!

Well it think that is enough writing for one evening. Hope you are all haveing a great June. I look forward to July for our family vacation!

Oh MY!

Oh My time flies, i haven't posted a new post in a long time and so much has happened!! So here goes a long post, so go get your cup of coffee and a comfy chair!

Well April 5 we purchase a used 2004 van from VIP mazda in abbotsford. A week after we bought it we brought it to toyota to just get a full service done on it. And we found out the it was not all wheel drive, which we were told it was! Nice hey. So anyways we go and complain to them and they told us we could bring the van back for a full refund or they would give us 500 bucks and a one year all terrain warranty.. T hinking that was a good deal seeings we didn't care if it was all wheel or not we said sure. The next day we drive to the inlaws and on the way the van stahls, umm, and then it happened again and then it jerked us on teh free way, that is when we thought oh my word what the heck. So we get home and john phones one of the mechanics from toyota and togther they think it has somsehting to do with the fuel additive. S o john takes teh van out of half an hour and drives in second and nothing happens, vans fixed. So comes monday 11am it is just about nap time but i really want roast for dinner so i put the kids in the van to quickly pick up a roast from safeway. The van is fine til i leave safeway and then it stahls adn the check engine light comes on and won't go off, what do I do, do i go home and then hope i make it home. Or do i drive to toyoat so they can take care of it. Well i figure i will go to toyota. There they look at it and tell me it might be this certain part but to take it hoem and if it happens again come bakc. At this point both children are miserabl! So i put them back in the car and turn the key it starts and then dies I tried three times. So now they need to get the part and i need soemone to bring me home. Turns out the air flow meter died. 240 bucks later it is fixed. So anyway john phones mazda and they are like ok we will pay for teh part. On saturday i leave to go to the mall and when i turn the engine on it squeals and when i leave it is blowing blue smoke, so john phones mazda and says this is it we want our money back. and so we drove it to mazda and got a full refund, it was pretty easy.
So now what do we do thank goodness we didn't sell either of our vehicles so we still each have one. But now that i have had this luxury van i dont' want to go back, it is so easy with the van taking the kids places. Umm what to do ...

We bought a brand new 2008 Toyota Sienna and it is coming off the truck today or tomorrow!! A lot of moeny later we have a van and we were even able to trad ein teh four runner for what we were asking for it too! so that is cool.

So you think everything is going well but wait. The way it works at our house its that if we buy something big something else will break. So here goes what broke.

We bought the first van and john accidently closed the garage on it and there was no damage on the vehicle. Big deal right garage doors are designed these days to bouce back up when they come in contact with something right, well that is if the guy who istalled the door put it in properly with ALL the pieces. SO ya now we have this big fight with the garage door company Ocean Doors to try and get oru money back seeings we had him install this brand new door in august. i have had other door companies come and just shake their heads with EVERYTHing that is wrong and there is a list. So we will fight and i will take hime to small claims court to sort this out cause it is going to cost over 1100 to replace the door ro 1300 to fix what he did wrong. Has anyone sued anyone before, i am not sure how it all works!? So ya but then guess what. W e buy a brand new van and john drives to workt he next day and stops at the gas statiokn and that is where is car is sitting, doesn't start! Oh the joys. So ya. Our history goes like this, we got all new windows, the washing machine breaks, we got new gutters,t eh original door breaks, we re did our yard the renters fridge breaks. That is how it works. scary but they go hand in hand!!

Well i am guessing my children are going to wake up soon so I think i will stop there. I will post about the girls a different time.

Saying Goodbye

On Friday we celebrated the life of my Taunte Annalee, it was a pretty sad funeral as she was still so young. She was diagnosed with liver cancer this past june and past away last week march 26. She leaves behind three children with their husbands and 7 grandchildren who are still really young. I wasn't super close to my Taunte Annalee but I was with one of her kids and his wife. This family lost their dad 10 years ago as well so both parents are deceased. This is the bulletin from the funeral and I wanted to share the poem that was on the back of it.

When family ties are broken
And loved ones have to part
It leaves a wound that never heals
And an ever-aching heart.

We can not bring the old days back
When we were all together
But loving thoughts and memories
Will live with us forever.

There will always be a heartache
And often silent tears
But always precious moments
Of days when you were here.

We hold you close within our hearts
And there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again

The entire funeral Annalee planned before her passing as she was a very maticulous and organized lady. She planned everything even her coffin that would look the best with her color! The service was beatiful and the reception to follow was nice to hear all her friends share their special memories of Annalee. Somehow throughout the service i kept putting myself in the families shoes and realizing that we don't know the plans of the Lord and for all we know he could take us away today. Time to smarten up with my walk with God so when that day comes i am ready to face my creator.

Best Pork Chops EVER!

So I am copying my cousin Larina's idea by posting a recipe and pics on my blog to share with you! So here it goes.

Apple Raisin Pork Chops

For 4 pork chops (i double the recipe so i have enough sauce for my rice!)

Brown pork chops in frying pan with oil, sprinkle salt and sage.

Once browned layer pork chops in dish with apples(up to you how many you want, i used three last time cause i love the apples with my meat!) and 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2Tbsp Flour.

With the oil in the frying pan add 1 cup water, and 1tbsp of vinegar, bring to a boil. Add raisins(however many you want) and pour over pork chops.

Bake at 350 F for one hour and then cover and bake for another 20minutes.!
